Business Plan Main idea (problem/solution)
The main issue has been replacing graphite electrode equipment in steel plants. In the past, graphite electrode was used as a means to discharge slag in electric arc furnaces, but due to its high cost and low efficiency, as well as its destruction during service, it was replaced by a copper electrode under water treatment with high thermal capability. The special design of this piece in resistance to thermal stresses makes the furnace body not damaged as a protective piece against the heat of 1,200 degrees Celsius. The heat created in the body of this part is removed from the part through the circulating water fluid inside the designed ducts and the temperature of the part remains constant at a level that does not cause damage to the part. Copper electrode with continuous and reliable transfer of slag reduces furnace stoppages, increases efficiency and also raises the level of safety in steelmaking companies.
 
 
Market size
Considering that the slag copper electrode is used in steel companies and in electric arc furnaces, the market for this design is very wide. The total number of steel factories in the country is around 200 companies, which have at least 80 to 100 electric arc furnaces for steel production. Considering that the life of this part in the standard mode for each electric arc furnace is a period of two years and also a spare part is always needed, therefore two parts are needed for each electric arc furnace in a period of two years. As a result, according to the number of electric arc furnaces in the country, at least 160 in a two-year period are needed by the country's steel industry.

This product can be used for all steelmakers who use melt preparation furnaces. Examples of these customers include Isfahan Mobarake Steel, Hormozgan Steel, Khuzestan Steel and other steel manufacturers.
